Olympic athlete Shavez Hart has been confirmed to have been shot dead in a fatal altercation in the Bahamas.

According to numerous reports, popular Olympic sprinter Shavez Hart was confirmed to have been shot dead on Saturday, September 3, 2022, following a fatal altercation in the Bahamas. The late athlete was shot in the early hours of Saturday at Mount Hope, North Abaco, where he was trying to break up an altercation in the area.

Bahamas Olympic Committee had confirmed the tragedy in a statement that read:

"The Olympic family is saddened to learn of the sudden passing of Shavez Hart, a proud native of Abaco. He was always very humble, yet proud and determined to offer the very best of himself for the sake of country."
