The Athletic confirmed the news on its official website on Sunday, March 6th, 2022. According to the report, Edison Cavani is also reportedly ruled out of the game at the Etihad Stadium.

Ronaldo who has been under scrutiny recently because of his poor form in racket games is Manchester United's highest goal scorer for the season with 15 goals from 30 games. However, the 37-year-old has just scored a goal this year out of 10 games.

Ralf Rangnick will however have only Marcus Rashford for the game against Manchester City. The Cityzens will hope for three points so they extend the points at the top of the league table.
