Manchester United and Lokomotiv Moscow Agree over Ralf Rangnick's Deal

Manchester United and Lokomotiv Moscow have reached an agreement in principle as it concerns the signing of Ralf Rangnick.

Sky Sports News conformed to the news on its website on Friday, November 27th, 2021. According to reports, the German is expected to sign the contract over this weekend which will see him stay at the club until the end of the season.

The 63-year-old will leave his position as the sporting director of Lokomotiv Moscow to move to Old Trafford. He will manage United for six months before signing a two-year deal in a consultancy role.

The managerial job at Old Trafford became vacant on Sunday, November 21st, 2021 when the board at Manchester United decided to sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following the poor run of results in the Premier League.

Rangnick will be coming to the Premier League with experience following his time in the Bundesliga having coached Hannover 96, Schalke 04, Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig. He also served as director of football RB Leipzig from 2012.

He was also responsible for Leipzig's promotion to the Bundesliga taking the club from the regional league to the fourth tier than to the Bundesliga.
