Chelsea FC has confirmed the injury status of six players who had missed the world cup 2022 due to one injury or the other. Head coach of the blues, Graham Potter, confirmed the match fitness levels of Reece James Kepa, Wesley Fofana, N'Golo Kante, Loftus Cheek and Ben Chilwell, who were missing out on action before the world cup break.

Potter clarified that all players are at different stages of match fitness levels, with some already joining the main training and a few also hitting the gym already.

Potter revealed that the players are healing nicely with Reece James and Wesley Fofana, who had both gotten injured in different champions league fixtures were slowly easing into training with other teammates.

He stated:

‘Reece is not quite fully training but he’s integrating into training along with Wesley, Wesley is a little bit further behind but not too far.’

Potter opened up that Ben Chilwell and Loftus Cheek have both joined the gym while N'Golo Kante and Kepa are still working hard on their rehabilitation.

He said:

Ben has come back from his individual work in Dubai and he’s now working closer with the guys but still not team training, N’Golo is a little bit further away but again he’s progressing well,

Kepa is not quite with the team yet but has stepped up his rehab, Ruben is doing some work in the gym so we’re hopeful that he can be involved next week but we’ll see how he goes.

There are lots of players at different levels and that’s the challenge but we’re making progress so that’s the positive.’
