South African rapper, Emtee has been in the headlines for numerous reasons over the past two weeks. Some of those reasons included that fact that he confirmed a second album would be on the way at the recent SAMA nomination reveal. This excitement was dampened, however, by an up and coming rapper who alleged that Emtee had stolen one of his songs.
A young rapper by the name of Jolondy Jacobs claims that Emtee stole their new song, “Ghetto Hero”. Check out the thoughts:
“The whole thing pissed me off. This is not the first time. His song Ready was also released without crediting me. I was part of the team in 2014 before they all became famous. We had worked on a lot of songs together,”
Emtee, however, has no time for such rumours.
“It’s becoming a habit for people to try their luck and take chances. I mean, where were they when I was working hard to become who I am? How can I steal what is mine?”
However, Jolondy claims that he still has all of the original tracks. Meanwhile, another producer has lent his voice to this saga:
“Emtee has stolen a lot of beats and songs from rising artists. They are within their right to claim their work and expose him,”
Yikes… whose side of the story do you believe?
