Wizkid Cancels Tiny Desk Concert Performance - Here’s Why

Nigerian singer, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun known professionally as Wizkid has canceled his Tiny Desk performance.

On the 9th of February 2021, the management of NPR took to their instatory to release a statement citing reasons why Wizkid won't be performing a Tiny Desk concert for Black History Month. Wizkid’s absence this year is due to the travel restrictions placed by the UK due to Covid-related issues. The post read;

Due to the recently imposed Covid-related travel restrictions to/from the UK, Wizkid regrettably had to cancel his participation in the Tiny Desk Black History Month celebration. Wizkid apologizes to NPR, his fans and looks forward to performing on Tiny Desk soon.”

Wizkid was billed to perform on NPR’s concert for Black Month History alongside international acts like Meshell Ndegeocello, Kirk Franklin, 2 Chainz, Giveon, KeiyaA, Sampa The Great, Melanie Charles, Bartees Strange, Wynton Marsalis, Rick Ross, Immanuel Wilkins, Rae Khalil and Davido. The virtual event kicked off on 2nd February 2021.
