The King of Nigerian High Life Music; The Ashawo master himself, Flavour N’Abania, has kick-started his own 2011 with a brand new single titled “Thank God!” As the title says, it’s a song in which he thanks God in both Igbo, English and the Yoruba language giving it a more national appeal.
In 2010, Flavour’s “Uplifted” album was arguably the highest selling album across the country. This earned him a record deal with New York and Lagos-based Bad Beatz Records, a subsidiary of Def Jam Records. While “Uplifted” is still amassing more and more figures, he’s already looking forward to his next album (no title or release date yet). He’ll also be going on tour of several cities in the United States this February. If you’re in New York, Maryland, Washington, California and Texas, be on the look-out for Flavour. More cities will be announced via his twitter page @FLAVOURNABANIA. For now, let’s all join Flavour in thanking God with this new song.
