Why Tetu Shani turned down Berklee College
Tetu Shani is an international recording and performing artiste who turned down a lucrative scholarship to study at the renowned Berklee College of music to contribute to the exploding alternative music scene in Nairobi, Kenya. And he's doing it well! He just released a new single "Samalina".
The song tackle relationship issues and produced in collaboration with the Kenyan Equatorial house music producer and DJ Saint Evo.

"Samalina" is a fusion of deep house, folk storytelling and African percussion driven by a strong melodic hook. Tetu and Saint Evo have remarkable chemistry - they arranged and produced the whole song in one studio session. The two have previously collaborated in 2016 on Saint Evo's debut album Jeru.
Tetu's first single won bronze at the 2015 Global Music Awards. He has since played widely across East Africa and shared the stage with global artistes like Toya Delazy, Joss Stone, Ayub Ogada and Patricia Kihoro.
