It is confirmed that YBNL Nation artiste Adekunle Gold will be in Kenya for his debut East African Media tour. Celebrated for his unique style of music - Urban Highlife, the Nigerian music star is one of the fastest rising artistes in the continent. He released his debut album GOLD last year that features songs: "Orente", "Pick Up" and "Ready" which have emerged as some of the leading and successful hit singles. It also made it to #7 on Billboard in the first week of release.

Ahead of his anticipated debut Kenyan visit and media tour dubbed “Adekunle Gold Nairobi Media Tour”, he says, “I’ve been getting a lot of love from Kenya - many people say that even though they don’t understand my language my music is beautiful,” adding on his overall identity and expression: “I am 100% African at heart – and my style is super traditional African. I don’t deny or feel shy of my roots and I make that clear everyday by the things I say and how I dress. I am into colourful prints and tie and dye.”

Adekunle will be running his first East African media tour in Nairobi. He also intends to hit the studio with some heavyweights. He is also planning to meet and greet friends and fans, as he “hopefully makes more friends in Kenya”, he adds.

Adekunle’s 16-track GOLD album enlisted top Nigerian producers including Masterkraft, Seyikeyz, Oscar, Pheelz, B Banks and Sleekamo. Renowned Nigerian singer Simi mix and mastered all the songs on Adekunle’s album except track 16 which was done by V-Tek. The album was Nigeria’s first to have all tracks side by side pictorial representation. His cover of One Direction's Story Of My Life was the song titled Sade, credited to have been a propelling force in Adekunle’s career. Sade even won the Best Alternative Song at Nigerian respected award ceremony – The Headies (2015).
