In a league largely dominated by the male folks, The Nigerian Music Industry has over the years experienced quite an impressive upsurge in terms of Female Artists staking a claim to the top spot and what’s more impressive is that they have done that by absolutely holding nothing back.
In 2016, the trend continued with some females doing what they know how to do best – Making great music, killing the shows, getting all the major awards, endorsements and of course, making a lot of mulla!
In the course of this week, notjustOk.com will systematically roll out The Top 5 Female Artists who took 2016 by the scruff of the neck and totally slayed!
There you go! The 5 Hottest Female Artists in Nigeria #TheList2016
And at Number 5!
What a year Niniola has had! After dropping the sleeper hit – Soke in mid-2015 and following it up with visuals in late 2015, Niniola “blew” properly this year by following up that amazing piece of music with “Akara Oyibo” , which also had a decent run, getting massive airplay on radio and all platforms.
In April, Niniola dropped 2 singles – “Shaba and J’ete” and there’s been no looking back since then as Shaba spread like wild fire and became a mainstay in music charts all over the country till this very present moment.
With a couple of prominent collaborations – most notably the ones with Seyi Shay and “Shaba” EDM remix with Drastic, the shows have been enormous for Niniola, from Lagos to London to the United States, she’s performed on the biggest stages this year and it’s safe to say she’s really had an amazing year and deserves her spot on #TheList. Did I mention that her stage presence is on fleek as well? She brought that to the fore yet again at the recently held “Sunny On Sunday” Concert.
It’s a huge surprise a major record label (I know she’s signed to Drumroll/Naija Review) is yet to snap this very beautiful diva who has just been nominated for the “Next Rated” Award at The Headies.
