South African rapper, Nasty C has enjoyed what is certainly one of the most successful weeks of his life. The rapper walked away with four Metro FM Music Awards. He’s clearly in high demand and we met up with him in Johannesburg this week when he was doing his work on the set of MTV Shuga’s music video for their title track.

While there, we caught up with the “Hell Naw” star to find out what inspired him to write his verse and what he came back and said touched our hearts:
“My verse was inspired by people who I grew up with who fell victim to this kind of life. I mean, I have peers that couldn’t make it out like I did. I know people who found out they were positive and they suddenly had to think about their life in a different way. So It was easy to come up with this verse because I could relate.”
This is truly heart warming and we can’t wait to see the final result. Nasty will be featuring alongside Seyi Shay and Ma-E on the official title track for MTV Shuga.
