10 East African artistes have been identified among several of the continent's as the lot to watch in the coming months. We spotlight the East Africans in their list in no particular order:

1. Band BeCa (Kenya)

The duo broke into the industry with the TLC-esque Scrubs hit record "Brathe" produced by Cedo of Pacho Entertainment.

2. Ben Pol (Tanzania)

Ben Pol has impressed thoroughly of late with his consecutive hit records; from "Moyo Mashine", "Phone" with Mr. Eazi and "Muziki" with Darassa.

3. Everlast (Kenya)

Kenyan dance group excelled at their first song collaboration featuring Naiboi and Kristoff. VJ One shot the video.

4. Khaligraph Jones (Kenya)

Respect to the OG for making into this list - well deserved! Khaligraph has skill like Twista, flow like MI's and articulates like the offspring of West Coast rap - while he very much has been heavily inspired by his Kenyan roots.

5. Lydia Jazmine (Uganda)

The Ugandan singer made her debut on Coke Studio Africa season 4 last year. Her latest release "Cherie" first performed on the show, was later released as an original single and has been blasting airwaves across East Africa. Her ability to sing in both Luganda and Swahili puts her above the rest of the pack.

7. Rayvann (Tanzania)

Wasafi Records artiste Rayvann has produced hit records including "Kwetu" and "Sugu". It is his other loved single "Natafuta Kiki" that has added him on MTV's list of artistes to watch.

8. Ruby (Tanzania)

Tanzanian power vocalist Ruby keeps impressing with the content of her song and her endearing voice. "Wale Wale" is a perfect show for her power.

9. Timmy Tdat (Kenya)

Kenyan hit maker Timmy is responsible for some of the biggest club bangers and popular songs to hit Kenyan streets in the past few years. His latest release "Trikide" is also tearing up the streets. The video was shot by Enos Olik.

10. Videz and Shiv (Kenya)

Bliss Records Kenya are coming strong with Videz and Shiv in the release of "Mbichi", produced by Starbiz/Videz Hybrid. The video was shot by BWOY P.
